Ruling favors defence in memory case

 Pennsylvania, USA:

The attorney for a 23-year-old woman must turn over reports of her mental health counseling dealing with allegations she has made that she was sexually abused by her father over a 12-year time span, beginning when she was 4-years-old, a state appeals court has ruled...

The father is facing multiple counts of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault — all felonies — and related charges, facing the possibility of years in state prison if convicted. He has denied the allegations, and has contended in court that the woman’s accusations are a product of false memories she produced as a result of her psychotherapy — thus the need for him to see the documents.
