Sometimes, it's better to just do nothing

The public is very conscious of the side-effects of medications used to treat various mental health problems.

In particular antidepressants have been subject to much scrutiny within the professions dealing with mental health and among journalists and public commentators.

As a result some may now have the impression that medication is bad, talking is good. Furthermore it is assumed that not only is psychological treatment better than medication but that it is devoid of harm.

Careful reading of the scientific literature shows this latter assumption to be incorrect....
